The GISMA Foundation makes College Scholarship Search available to applicants with exceptional qualifications .Applicants who would otherwise be unable to finance their studies at GISMA are also eligible to apply.

The College Scholarship Search goal is to attract highly qualified individuals to take up their studies here at GISMA. In scholarship based on merit the assistance takes the form of full or partial scholarships covering between 15% and 100% of the overall tuition fee.In partial College Scholarship Search based on Merit and Financial Need the assistance covers between 15 % and 85% of the overall tuition fee.

University of Lund Postgraduate College Scholarship Search


We College Scholarship Search encourage applications for up to two PhD student positions in Sustainability Knowledge within the frame of the interdisciplinary research programme LUCID at Lund University.

LUCID is a Linnaeus programme sponsored by The Swedish Research Council Formas for the cycle 2008-2018. LUCID is coordinated by the faculty-independent Centre for Sustainability Studies at Lund University (LUCSUS). Linnaeus Grants are awarded to exceptionally strong environments performing research of the highest global quality and aiming at innovative research. LUCID is a consortium comprising the following disciplines: human ecology, human geography, philosophy, physical geography, political knowledge, sociology of law and sustainability knowledge.

LUCID College Scholarship Search aims at making completely new and unique synergies across natural and social sciences in order to develop new integrated theories and methods for addressing complex sustainability issues. The research is anchored in natural scientific understanding, social knowledge theories and ethical considerations. Four global challenges are in focus: climate change, water shortage, loss of biodiversity and land use change. Two scientific approaches, problem solving and critical research, will be combined to know how society handles and should handle these global challenges. The College Scholarship Search research will offer theoretical, methodological and practical contributions to the broad and emerging field of sustainability knowledge.

We are now seeking up to two PhD candidates in Sustainability Knowledge.

Job assignments

The doctoral College Scholarship Search candidate programme amounts to 240 credits (which is equivalent to four years of study full time). It formally ends with the doctoral candidate publicly defending his/her printed doctoral thesis. The holder of a postgraduate position has as his/her fundamental obligation to successfully fulfil his/her third cycle education ending with a PhD degree. Regulations concerning appointment as a full time postgraduate student can be found in the Higher Education Ordinance Chapter 5, 1-7 §§.

The holder of a postgraduate position is probable to participate actively in the research and teaching environment of LUCSUS. He/she will normally perform departmental duties, above all teaching, amounting to in this area 20 per cent of full time.

New Zealand Open Development College Scholarships

New Zealand Development Scholarships (NZDS) provide the opportunity for individuals from targeted developing countries to undertake studies at tertiary education institutions in New Zealand. The purpose of the scholarships is for candidates to gain knowledge and skills in specific subject areas that will assist in the development of their home country by contributing to identified human resource development (HRD) training needs. Awardees are required to return to their home country for at least two years after the completion of their scholarship to apply these new skills and knowledge in government, civil society or private business organisations.
The NZDS scheme is funded by the New Zealand Government’s Official Development Assistance (ODA) programme. The New Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade (MFAT), delivers the scheme through the New Zealand Aid Programme. A new scholarship scheme for Pacific applicants will be available by the end of April 2011. Until then, interested candidates should contact the New Zealand High Commission or Management Services Contractor in their country if they wish to apply for a scholarship to study in New Zealand.
Eligibility: Applicants must consult with either the NZDS accredited institution or New Zealand embassy in their country for more information about eligibility criteria.

icipe Postgraduate Fellowship Programme

The International Centre for Insect Physiology and Ecology (icipe), Nairobi, Kenya, and TWAS offer one fellowship per year to young scientists from developing countries (other than Kenya) who wish to undertake their PhD studies in Kenya.

Scholarship Description: TWAS-icipe Postgraduate Fellowships in natural sciences are tenable for a period of up to 3 years at the departments of the International Centre for Insect Physiology and Ecology (icipe) in Kenya.

Eligible icipe departments: Fellowships are tenable at icipe in the Programmes of Animal Health, Human Health, Plant Health, Environmental Health, in the Department of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology, in the Department of Behavioural and Chemical Ecology, in the Department of Entomology, and at the field station of Mbita, Lake Victoria, Kenya.

icipe will provide a standard monthly allowance which should be used to cover living costs, such as accommodation, food and health insurance. The monthly stipend will not be convertible into foreign currency.

Eligibility

Applicants for these Fellowships must meet the following criteria:

* be a maximum age of 35 years on 31 December of the application year;
* be nationals of a developing country (other than Kenya);
* hold a Master’s degree in a field of the natural sciences;
* provide evidence that s/he will return to their home country on completion of the fellowship;
* be accepted at an icipe department and provide an official acceptance letter from the head of the department (see sample Acceptance Letter) to this effect. Requests for acceptance must be directed to Lillian Igweta (see contact details below);
* provide evidence of proficiency in English.

STEM Scholarship in Oxford Brooks University, UK

Scholarship description: As part of the Community Scholarship Scheme, Oxford Brookes is offering a small number of scholarships for those who are applying specifically for courses in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics. These scholarships are worth £1,000 for the first year and £500 for two subsequent years.

If you are eligible for a Community Scholarship and applying to study a course in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics, you can elect to be considered for a STEM Scholarship. Electing to do this does not preclude you from consideration for a non specialist Community Scholarship Award.

Note: successful applicants will only be entitled to receive one award.

If you are a winner of the Science Oxford – Science Apprenticeship Challenge please make this clear on your Scholarship application form.

Eligibility: You must be at a state-maintained secondary school or college of further education in Oxfordshire, Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire or Berkshire. If you are at Brooklands College, Solihull College, Swindon College or New College, Swindon then you are also eligible. You must have firmly accepted a place on either a full time three or four year degree course or a foundation degree course at our partner colleges and demonstrate one or more of the following criteria:
